Day 7 and thanking SR
Made it to day 7, couldn't have done it without this site. My mistake last time was deciding to drink again and quitting this site because I was embarrassed. I know now you would have helped me realise I was back on a destructive path again a lot sooner. So I've made a promise to myself that if I cave I tell you and face up to it straight away not 3 months later when I'm back to square one again. But feeling positive at the moment and hoping never to cave again.

Maybe others will disagree...but I don't necessarily agree that you are "back at square one." You started down the right path the day you first decided enough is enough and I want to quit. You slipped up. But if you can LEARN from that and really sit down and figure out the timeline and why's and how's of how your return to alcohol started...then you aren't really starting over...you are continuing on...armed with some much needed knowledge that you can now use in the future to NOT slip up.
It's awesome that folks can quit and quit for good. Kudos to them. But if you slip up and truly learn from it...then maybe you have been blessed with that one last piece of the puzzle...that one last bit of learning you need to figure out all the things you need to do to stay sober for good. And if so...then you are truly making progress...my two cents..
