I said I wasn't paying attention to the days but...

Tomorrow (Feb 15) I will be sober for two months or 62 days of alcohol-free living. I still contend that if this old drunk can make this happen, anyone of you can do the same. I have made this statement several times here on SR, but not only is it to encourage you, it also is a reminder to me that great things are possible...
...if you believe it and truly want it.

I believe and want it, how about you?

That's great! I feel the same way, Creekryder. I spent 25 years with a bottle chained to my ankle. If I can break the chains anyone can! Congrats.

Hell Yes!

Hi Creekryder thanks for your post - sensible as always. Congratulations! I have to say your reply to my first thread just over 2 weeks ago was the one that brought me to my senses. I have not looked back (only 2 weeks) but I am fiercely determined to not put a drop of alcohol down my throat. In just 2 weeks people have noticed and they say I am calmer and nicer to be around. I really want this 'not drinking' to become my habit long term.

Thanks for your posts and all the very best to you and your sobriety

Isn't it great to be an ex old drunk ?

I feel the same - if this old drunk lady can do it, anyone can.

Many congrats, Creekryder

Great job Creekryder!

I had 2.5 years sober from Feb 2011 on but somehow gave into the notion that I could then drink normal, needless to say I was wrong. I have tried to quit many times again since, coming up on 2 years back drinking and it's been as hard to quit this time as before.

I did have another recent small slip last week but I have been sober all weekend and that's big, I love the positive energy in the thread and just wanted to say 'I'm In'.

Congrats on your 62 days!
