14 lessons in the tool belt.
2 weeks today - My adventure in sobriety was not by choice initially as I have commented on in another thread. I was simply snowed in for 2.5 days. No way to get alcohol or smokes.
Day one and two (Sun-Mon) were really bad. We all know what thats like. Day three is when the plow came by and allowed me to get out of my driveway. This is when the idea of a PoC (proof of Concept) came to mind. I'll see what sobriety is like. If it's awful then I can easily go back.
That night is when I found SR. I thought, You mean I can actually talk to people in almost real time if I get in over my head? I can read about what to look out for as time passes? I can learn about the successes and set backs others have gone through? Wow, this place is a godsend. I joined.
Day 4 I was still vomiting as I had been for the past 9 months, every day. I lost about 35lbs over a year (from 185). Day 5, no more vomiting. It just stopped. This was a huge deal for me. I ate like a mad man after this. This also ended the idea of just a PoC. I was in.
Everyday is a new lesson for me. A big thank you to all that participate. The empathy baffles me sometimes. You are all my personal Valentines today. God bless. -MRJ

Two weeks is great, you may never have to go through this again. Do you think that being snowed in might not have been by chance? I was once where your at, vomiting everyday. I was put in a situation where I couldn't get anything too. That was May 18th 2013 I have been sober ever since. It get's better. Way easier to stay quit than to quit. Best wishes.

Thanks Jonathan. It's sad to look back and think of myself those two days. I walked out and checked the road every 1/2 hour to see if it had been cleared. I was livid. How can they do this to me!!! Lol.
By chance? I don't know. If not, I am grateful and plan to hold on tightly. I don't suspect something like that will happen again any time soon.
Well, Time to plan my 'keep busy' activities for tomorrow and print them out. This is my method. So far it works for me.

things happen for a reason.
Don't plan too far in advance, It's Ok to have goals. Sobriety is much easier to take one day at a time. Just do the next right thing, whatever it is. It get's better. Success isn't a destination, it's a journey. Enjoy the journey. You are right where you need to be. The picture is nothing personal LOL.
