How did this happen??
I wasn't sure where to post this but i'm hoping someone here has advice or suggestions and maybe even went through this yourself. Long story short is I am a recovering alcoholic/addict. About 3 months ago I found this substance online called Tianeptine. After researching it a little I thought it was safe enough and ordered some. Boy, was that a mistake. This drug is unlike anything I have experienced as far as addiction potential. In 3 months I am completely addicted to this taking in huge quanities. The main problem is nobody knows what it is or how to treat it. I tried to quit once and found out that there was terrible WD's. Does anyone have any suggestions?
PS: I already went to the ER (cause I was scared it was killing me) and they knew nothing about it, took my vitals and sent me on my way??

Where did you get it?
Hi jayther,
Sorry to read abut your unfortunate situation. If you got it from a foreign country it could be tainted with anything and may not even contain the target formula. Here is a link to more info on it.

Welcome to the Forum Jayther!!
Tianeptine is not something I have any experience with, but like all substances there's going to be a potential uncomfortable withdrawal period, and then it would be down to your Dr on managing those symptoms.
Have you talked to your Dr about coming off this substance and seeing what treatment they can prescribe to deal with the withdrawals?!!

whoa. never even heard of it before jayther, until now. By reading the wikipedia link above, I assume you were looking for an anti depressant. Drs prescribe those my friend, not the internet. STOP DOING THIS.
You asked how did this happen, well we can't answer that. You need to see a real doctor for your issues that lead you to take some random chemical off the internet, and the only advice I can give, is STOP DOING THAT.
I don't know what this chemical is you ingested, but if coming off it is harsh in any way, SIT at a drs office so they can see the affects of stopping taking it. Who knows what you have done to your body. We sure as hell don't! Especially if the ER doesn't either!!!
Best of luck man. I wouldn't play with this at all. Like NOW I would be doing something.

I agree with what everyone is saying, We are not Doctors here, That drug sounds dangerous after reading up on it. and after your personal experience. There are so many bad drugs that are getting approved by the F.D.A now, it's all about $!.
This one isn't even approved in the U.S. U.K Canada and more. Hope you get off it quickly and safely.

This substance has been talked about in the forums before that can be found here:

I would recommend what others here have said, and what the other article too recommends talk to a Dr. Given the fact that this drug is rare and doesn't appear to be legal you might have to do some homework and start calling psychiatrist, hospitals, call addiction specialist and if all else fails, possible the poison control center. I am quite certain there are guidelines for withdrawal out there somewhere. Gather up all the generic names for the drug too and have all the information at hand.
I must say I am quite surprised that a ER would just take your vitals and send you on your way. They should have a quite extensive database of medications on their computer and treatment methods. However, that being said, there are some bad doctors out there.
