Yesterday I had my first breakdown (26 days sober) it seems that every day gets harder and harder. I have never ever felt this yukkie in my life I wanted to die! ( And I have had a lot! Of bad bad moments in my life as a gay teen where I wanted to just vanush into nothing) I wanted to get drinks to make it go away!
I felt like I just couldn't cope!
Thank the lord my friend kept texting me throughout the whole event that took well over an hour and a half I cried so incredibly much I thought my head was about to explode!!!
The whole day was crap really 1.5 hours meeting with my bosses, cried at the health shop,
Sooo, this is what that lady in town from the health shop, a recovered alcoholuc herself, warned me fir? Thus is recovery for you girl welcome, but we're here fir you.
Im going to call Holleyoke today a drug and alcohol councellor service and I'm goibg to book myself in to SMART recovery group (like aa but non religious)
The further I get aling in this process the more I feel I can't do it anymore!
It us 7.30 am rwady for work I'm physically and emotionally drained nil energy I don't want to go to work I need to cry!
I have list yet another kilo that is 4 in 2.5 weeks suppise that's great.
I'm so blessed with the suppirt I have thank you for reading this guys.

J

You CAN do it, PG. that little voice telling you otherwise is a liar, plan and simple.

Glad to hear that you are looking into SMART and putting another tool in your toolbox.

Make it through this and your sober muscles will become stronger. Remember that this will pass. Keep your eye on the prize and cry-it-out if you need to, hopefully not at work

You're doing it though and 26 days is huge accomplishment. Yes, please do find outside support, if you believe that SMART will help call them right away and get some more support on your side. I've seen recovery groups for alcoholism for people of LBGT community. Do they have any such groups in your area you could look into?

Each day you get stronger and stronger. You may not feel it, but you are growing better able to cope with life with each sober test. Don't despair!

The initial period of Sobriety can be rough, but if you give up now you have to go back to Day 1 and do it all again, instead use the support and resources available to keep pushing through, and eventually things will ease and there will be light at the end of the tunnel!!

If you need a little extra support this weekend, we have our Weekender thread and everyone is welcome!!
