Unexpected result of SR.
Unexpected result of SR.
Im 10 days in. I'll update after 2 weeks.
I read a lot and I think the kindness and compassion of SR is rubbing off on me. I feel like I am being less critical of people, especially at work. Maybe its the feeling of emotions after years of drinking. Either way it's all good things. Thanks SR! -MRJ

Welcome aboard, yes I think people here are genuine and kind...something I've noticed as well. Congrats on the 10 days, that is no small feat considering how tough the acute withdrawal symptoms can be.

Great post! SR has shown me how egotistical, unkind, judging and critical I can be. I'm so often reproved when I see the kind support that is offered to people here, and it makes me aspire to be that kind of person too.
Way to go! In earlier attempts at sobriety, 10 days was always difficult for me. It should get easier for you going forward. And thanks for the reminder about attitude.. I get the same way sometimes.
MRJ - 10 days is something to be really proud of - well done!
When I came here I never intended to stay. There was just something about SR that kept pulling me back - and now I can't imagine not checking in every day. I'm very glad you're here and enjoying being part of us.

If you take addiction out of the picture, this place is still good for people. The fact that we support each other through our addictions is mindbendingly(no, not a word but accurate) humbling.
Good for you MJ, things keep getting better. Any bumps in the road are just that, bumps.
Don't forget where you were at 10 days ago. Move on yes, but never forget. That is what SR has taught me the most.

Quote on kindness:
"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again" - Stephen Grellet
