Learing to live MY life
Learing to live MY life
This morning two thoughts of the day stood out do me.
The first passage is from the book, Courage to Change, Feb. 8th, page 39:
To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.
Oscar Wilde
I wish I could have read this statement all those years ago when I was so emotionally abused. It took a long time for me to heal but the first step for me was to forgive myself and learn to love myself. IMO, that is where forgiveness starts, from within.
The second passage is from the book, Hope for today, Feb 8th, page 39:
When I keep focus on myself, I can make my own bed as comfortable as possible. I just might give others the opportunity to do the same.
Focusing on ourselves actually allows us to release other people to solve their own problems and frees us to find contentment and even happiness for our selves.
From Survival to Recovery, p. 75
This really hit home for me when I read them because this is what SR and Alanon has done for me, again. Brought me back to focus on myself. Am I healed, no way, I am in no hurry. I just want to live my life and inside of me I want peace and serenity. And my change of attitude has been pretty amazing for my family. I am no longer suffocating them to death with all of my control. It is hard work for me but I must press forward. The tiny bit of freedom I feel when I release my control to my HP is amazing.
Hope you all have a bless Sunday peeps!
Thanks for reading
