Day One
Hello there,
After trying to give up the demon drink on multiple occasions, I've decided to seek more support on here as I obviously can't do it on my own. I have given up for a period of weeks, only to go on a binge which I hate myself for. This is what happened again yesterday. Aside from my health, I am adding to my partner's stress and worry about me and I hate it. I just want to be happy and not have this worry in my life or his any more.
You seem like a friendly bunch and I hope when the times comes that I feel tempted, I can share those feelings on here and begin to understand why I do what I do.
Thank you for this community, it seems like a really positive step for many people to share their feelings and understand themselves a bit better.

Welcome Caleb! Getting the plug in the jug for good is what we're all about here. Tons of great advice, real experience and support here. I've been here for almost 8 months and consider SR Tool numero uno for my maintenance. Congrats on making the decision.
A very warm welcome to you, Caleb This is an excellent site and the main factor in my two years of sobriety. I have learnt a huge amount from the wisdom and honesty of the people here. Most of all they taught me that I am not alone and there is always someone who understands and who cares. You've come to a great place!

Thanks everyone. Just knowing that there are people out there going through the same struggle as me is very empowering. I'm reading through other posts and it's good to know I don't have to face this alone.
Hi Caleb,
One thing I am realizing this go 'round is that when you aren't drinking, there is a huge load of fear removed from your life. I hate having the constant worry that today will be the day I fall and wake up feeling like crap. I don't want that. All I need to do is make it through 24 hours and wake up sober.
