Found some wine

My mind is a absolute mess tonight
I started smoking again (fine, I can quit again when I'm a bit stronger in my sobriety) and have had more coffee than I should, and eaten just junk today, all trying to get through a long day of work then a late meeting, but when I got home I'm still so agitated and upset for no reason and I started cleaning again and literally 5 mins in found half a bottle of wine.honest to god have no memory of putting that in my tshirt drawer (I hid alcohol everywhere so I shouldn't be surprised I guess)
Now I'm in bed exhausted and angry and restless and wanting to drink this so bad. I put it in a cupboard by my bed, I know I need to get rid of it but I so want it tonight
18 days today, ugh
Posting here has always helped before, fingers crossed it does tonight

Just pour it out so you can get some sleep. You will feel better for it.

Sorry you're struggling. If it was me I'd get up and pour it out. You'll feel really good that you did tomorrow. It will help with your resolve and confidence.

Early recovery is rough but it will get better immri.
Don't make it even rougher on yourself tho - dump the wine. Now.

I'm joining the crowd in saying dump it. You'll feel better when the temptation is gone.

Keeping it for no good reason means you aren't ready yet and are keeping a "security" blanket. It's false security. Congratulations on 17 days. You don't want to have to start over. Dump it.

This happened to me early on in my sobriety process (technically I'd call it late in my addiction, but that's another story). I found a pint of bourbon in the bushes. I think it was a Monday, and I thought, I'll keep it and maybe I'll drink it this weekend if I manage to go all week without.

I slept horribly that night. The next day at work I kept thinking about that bottle of bourbon. When can I drink it? When can I drink it? When can I drink it?

I went home that day and couldn't think of anything else for about 2 hours. I was obsessed. In a moment of clarity I fetched that bottle and poured it down the sink.

The relief was nearly immediate and nearly complete.

Dump it. You'll be glad you did.

Dump that poison, immri.

I vote for the toilet; it's a little more ceremonious!!!!!

Hang tough, immri. Sobriety and recovery are worth the time, effort, pain . . . .

Tip it in the toilet where the crap belongs. I wouldn't stress about having a smoke or junk food right now.

But just dont drink alcohol!

18 says sober was hard earned.

If you drank it you will just feel guilty and crap tomorrow and back to square one.

You dont need this poisonous **** in your life.

Keep us updated I want to know you flushed it.

Do it for me the crap nearly killed me. Im proof you can get through this at 70 days sober.

I won't repeat the good advice posted above, but that garbage can only do more harm than good.

When I had just gotten out of the treatment center, I ran across an aspirin container (one of those pocket-sized tin containers) which had some Xanax in it.

It scared me to death, and I pulled my hand back like I had reached in the sock drawer and accidentally grabbed a rattlesnake.

I quickly flushed the pills down the toilet, because I didn't want to think of the danger they posed being in the same house as myself (in early sobriety).

Let us know what you do.

Thanks everyone for all the encouragement, I didn't flush it last night I just went to sleep and slept so badly now I have a headache and feel gross without even having any wine, ugh. I leave for work in an hour, I either need to dump it or drink it by then or I just know I'm going to be obsessing all day. Pretty certain il get rid of it, just being honest im not 100% decided
