Day one.
Don't know where I should start. I am currently nursing the hangover from hell. Had to leave work, think my boss knew. I can't go on like this. I want to stop but I can't. Need help. I'm desperate.
I'm glad you found us and posted.
It's interesting that many of us think we fool people, but looking back, not so much. There is lots of support and information here, so keep reading and posting.

Hey Happy,
It's important to know the difference between "I can't" and "I haven't". You must have hope and faith in yourself and your ability to control your behaviors. Even if you can't see it right now, you have to at least believe the ability exists.
My mother used to say, "If you think you can't or you think you can, either way, you are right."
If you think about it, if you really thought you couldn't quit, then why would you even ask for help? It's because you know things don't have to go on the way they have. Different is possible and it is waiting for you.
One of things I have done myself and I see others do is to just live one moment at a time, and not choose to drink in that present moment. Not for this five minutes, not for this quarter hour, not for this hour not for this day. It has helped me to make a little chart from a notebook and list each quarter hour of the day, make notes to the side what I am going through and scratch out each quarter hour as I make it.
