Meetings for Mental Health Professionals Who are in Recovery
Hello all,
I have been almost 6 years clean and sober in AA and have recovered in OA for 3+ years. I changed careers to be in the mental health field.
I am in my last semester of school and have been working with addicts at an intern capacity for the last two years. I have struggled to find time for both of my programs and I also started to feel alone especially in AA due to being in the profession in addition to being in recovery myself.
That is why I started looking for AA or any other 12-step based self-help group meeting for mental health professionals; however, I have not been able to find anything. I live in Queens, NY and I am close to NYC.
I would really appreciate it if anyone knows any meetings geared towards mental health professionals who are in recovery. If not, I wonder if anyone else would be interested in starting a meeting.
