15 days sober wow

Never thought I could do this but I haven't had a drink for 15 days now.
I am so proud of myself, My first attempt, hopefully the last.
I am using Campral, I have practically nil cravings, before I had Campral the cravings just drove me nuts.
I hope I can stay this way I am liking it.

The first ten days detoxing with Valium, I was just constantly hungry. I used to take in at least 4200 Cal a day from booze/beer, now I only eat about 1000 cal, yet I still haven't lost weight.
My Cholesterol is mega high 9.4 my blood sugar levels were/are high, my liver is inflamed, my blood pressure was high, I am anemic (don't eat meat either)
I hope that with eating normally and using this drug I can get healthier
Looking forward to it.

I have 2 repeats

But apparently your body may not need it once cravings and withdrawals are gone..

Thats what doc told me anyways. He said just come back after all repeats.

Congrats on your 15 days PGS.

If you have any concerns or worries about your script, it's really best to see your Dr about it

Congrats.

The sleep thing? I found that when I woke up in the middle of the night I could have some hot chocolate and toast and I would fall right back asleep. I found it was really helpful. I would log on here and have my snack then go back to bed.

Sleep evens out after a few weeks.

I slept only 5 hours again don't know how I'm going to perform at work sooo tired
I'm worried when they take the Campral off me that I will relaps what is the best way to sort this out?

I feel very good not drinking nil cravings atm. Hope it stays that way once I'm of the campral.
Indeed full price is $168 but im only paying 35 ish medicare covers it all rehab clinic is fre psycologist is free not that she's any useful thoug!
She just finished her degree can tell she's a newbee. But I'll visit her anyways.

It's more reprogramming my brains to live a different lifestyle I suppose.
Taking one day at the time.

my family and friends live back home in Holland 8.5 hours tome diffetence

Thanks girls

Oh we're on the same days I think and I take Campral too! I've bern on it over a month and have 2 repeats and as far as I know am going to get more when they run out, so I guess I'll be on it a while. They won't take you off before you're ready though, if your dr suggests stopping just tell him you don't feel ready, I'm sure they would understand
Goodluck!

I would say you are also tired because you're taking the Campral. It is like any other medication and it has some big side effects. I just looked them up and a lot of what you are experiencing could be from the drug.

When I stopped drinking, it took a while before I started feeling normal-ish. I didn't use any medical intervention, but at two weeks I was no where near feeling energetic or normal. It just took time. I've learned I don't do well on any prescribed meds, so I don't take them. As far as increased energy, exercise and a healthy diet are the best things I've found. Exercise also helps me sleep a good eight hours.

I've worked at pretty stressful jobs for months at a time with five hours of sleep. It wasn't fun, but it's possible.

Keep working at it, you'll figure it out.
