One week now

I am here I guess like every one else to get some support and encouragement as I quit drinking. I haven't had a drink for one week now. I usually didn't drink often, but when I did, I drank a lot. I have tried to quit several times, but this time I'm really ready as something changed in my mind about this that I never had before but it is hard to explain, but I feel a real disgust now for drinking.

I totally get what you mean about something changing...like something just clicked for you!
The same thing happened for me eight weeks ago and I've never been happier or more at peace with myself!

Thanks for the replies. My weekends (days off from work) are Thursday and Friday and I got through my first weekend. Right now my goal is to get through the next weekend and then I'll work on longer term goals. It looks like there are a lot of great people and I look forward to reading more words of encouragement here.
