Weird dream last night..thought I'd messed up!

Well fell asleep on the settee last night (all the lack of sleep catching up I think). Had this weird dream where my daughter tipped out most of a bottle of red and a bottle of white. Drunk the glass of white and then the glass of red (all that was left)...the red tasted of black currant jam??!! Lol.
Woke up and a bit disorientated thought '**** I'll have to buy more now'.
Suddenly realised where I was and not drinking anymore and had a real panic for a minute thinking I'd really drunk the two glasses!
Was so relieved when realised it was a dream (tho also slightly disappointed in a way).
That was the first dream I've had about drinking since giving up (that I remember anyway).
Anyone else had any weird dreams? Lol xx

I've had lots of weird drinking dreams, mostly in early sobriety.

The other night, though, I dreamed that I drank a glass of ice cold vodka and I am not a vodka drinker - wine was my poison. I woke up panicked and then relieved.

Sobriety is one of the most important things in my life, now.

Drinking dreams are fairly common.

Hi, Jaded.

I had several weird, vivid dreams in the first few weeks after I quit. Several of them about drinking. From what I've read on the forums here, it's pretty common. I found it helpful to write them down and to just keep a journal in general. It helped me shake off the unpleasant dreams.

Dreams/Nightmares are very common in early recovery i had sleep issues for ages

at 18.5 months they have calmed completly i hardly remember nightmares now

It balances out with time i had a dream once where ppl were trying to get me drunk it was vivid and so real fortunatly they are just dreams

(((JG)))

Haha I can understand the alcohol creeping into dreams but I'm not quite sure why the same dream involved my coals in my fireplace being replaced half by chicken curry and half by jelly beans lol xx
