I through myself into weight lifting when i quit drinking, I certainly through myself at drinking with gusto, I figured i would put that same amount of effort i did towards drinking to lifting and its been awesome. after about 30 days of not drinking and working out i see a huge difference in my body. Stick with it!

Same here. After detoxing, I started working out five days a week in one way or another. It really helps with the anxiety as well as keeping the "take care of yourself" mentality.

I wouldn't be sober if it weren't for exercise.

I agree with clayton, Stick with it!

That's awesome! Aside from the obvious benefits of quitting drinking, I noticed I sweat so much less now that I don't drink anymore. It's a good feeling.

In a weird kind of way I kind of enjoy seeing how unfit I have become on my first day back after a layoff. The lower the bar the more I enjoy the progress that follows.

Awesome!!!! Better than not doing anything. Working out has been my foundation in my recovery. Even one year in, I'm a mess if I don't work out. Just give it your best. Don't compare yourself to anyone but yourself.
