Grandma's Birthday

I went back to my hometown for my Grandma's 95th birthday. Her health is failing but she is still hanging in.

She sat in her wheelchair and told all of us grandkids and great-grandkids about her adventures. She took the train to California when she was 14, she went to Hawaii when she was 50. She won a blue ribbon at the State Fair.

Now, she sits in the retirement home and remembers her life. Although I'm sure there were bad experiences, she concentrates on the good.

If, by the grace of God, I live to be 95, I want to sit in my wheelchair and make my grandkids laugh with stories of my adventures. I don't want to look back at my life and remember misery and sadness.

Today is the day....every day is a gift. Happy birthday Grandma and thank you.

After reading this..it brought a tear to my eye. Not a tear of sorrow..but a tear of joy! Your Grandmother is very special. She has given you a great gift and you have taken this and are using it in your life. Way to go. Thanks for sharing this. Enjoyed reading it.
