Hey i am back

Hi guys,

Sorry not posted in a while, back to day 1....

It's been a pretty hard time, as most of you know i have extremely bad health anxiety most of the tests coming back ok but i have now got it into my head that i have pancreatic cancer.

Its a bit anoying as i drink to stop the worrying, after stopping for so long and my liver tests improving so much i have took a major leap backwards.

Anyway back to day one. How is everyone?

Hi tambody,

Welcome back and congrats on day 1 and to a new start mate.

I too have this health anxiety thing, I think its from growing up in an abusive environment, I was always worried where the next threat would originate from...

Its all in our heads, at the end of the day we cant worry about everything at once anyway. And then worrying itself is bad for us too....keep in touch and pm me if you need. Im one say shy of 60 doday...

That's like saying I throw dirt in my house to clean it.

Alcohol use increases anxiety.

Glad you're back Tambdy - like nons says drinking makes no sense - but especially if you did have pancreatic cancer....

I'm sure this is a groundless fear

I think everyone understands that, and empathises - but you need to challenge that kind of rationale - because it's simply not logical.

If there is a problem drinking will only make it worse.

Don't use Google man - seriously.

Have you lined yourself up for all the relevant tests to put your mind at ease?

I have had every test under the sun over the last 12 months, the doctor will give me a better idea today if i have been tested for this.

I really messed up my liver tests were in the 200 i stayed off drinking and they nearly came back to normal and they i go on a month long drinking session.

I am stopped from today and hopefully when i get my LFT again in February my liver results will be good again. I was given a 2nd chance by my liver and i royally messed it up.

It's no good brooding on it - yesterday is gone. There are no re-dos.

The best thing you, or any of us, can do for mind and body now is stay sober from here on in, Tambdy

Tambdy, welcome back. You have been seeing your Dr and your liver tests improved when not drinking. That is a good sign! I seriously doubt that you have pancreatic cancer. I am with Dee-stay away from internet self diagnosis.

If it makes you feel any better, I know someone who is an alcoholic who had liver damage, esophogeal bleeding and pancreaititis. He has been sober now for 20 yrs and is living a healthy life. If you don't drink, your body can repair itself.

Have you thought about seeing someone for this anxiety?
