I wanted to soar, but I can't even crawl.
I wanted to stand, but only know how to fall.
And inside this cage, I just want to be free.
But I built this cage, and I'm too blind so see.

I wanted to scream, but I don't have a voice.
I want independence, but I can't make a choice.
And though I am whole, I know I'm falling apart.
It can't break anymore, what is left of my heart.

But I want the sun, oh won't you come in?
Don't leave me, don't leave me, don't leave me, again.

I may have to crawl, at least for a time.
But when I do finally soar- victory shall be mine.
I may have to fall, before I can stand.
But oh when I do, won't you take my hand?
Will you help me break free, break free from this cage?
Will you draw back the curtains and pour sun on my rage?

This too shall pass, at least I am told.
I pray this is true, because my heart is so cold.
So I'll wait for the sun and I'll wait to soar.
I'm content to crawl and can't ask for more.




I wrote this tonight after a pretty intense evening. Lots of turmoil here with the kids and turmoil with AH coming home soon. Just needed to get this out. Thanks for the "vent"

Crawling is fine way to travel.

Makes things REAL easy when you get to Step 7.
