Congratulations on day 4, whitehorses! If you've been regularly drinking too much wine, you should find that the weight starts to fall off quite easily. But that will take care of itself; for now, just concentrate on staying sober - you'll get so much more than just weight loss!
I found there was water retention and "normalizing" of digestion which really had the
weight bouncing around awhile.
It is extremely important to rebuild yourself nutritionally so eat well and healthy.
By this I mean whole foods, lots of veggies, and quality meat. Avoid processed food
and chemical type "non-foods" and don't try to "diet" too much in early sobriety.
Alcohol depletes vitamins and minerals pretty badly and you need to build your vitality.
Lots of folks around eat paleo--I joined a gym and lost 40 pounds of booze flab & replaced some with muscle my first year of non-drinking.
I think the paleo diet helped me lose weight but also rebuild strength and energy.
The exercise also gave me an outlet / focus for not drinking.
Don't worry too much about a few pounds the first few weeks.
Staying sober and feeling better are the most important things.
I think you're doing great!

I've tried to promise myself to not worry about my weight while I'm trying something as hard as this. If I could I'd throw the damn scale out
I hope you're gentel with yourself and just realize how big of a deal it is to give up the wine and try not to worry. You're doing great
