No beer, no cigs, LOTS of free time....

...going crazy!!!!!'

23 days sober. On 3rd day of no cigs.

Besides chasing my kids around, what in the world do I do with all this extra time??

It feels soooooo not normal not having some sort of crutch!!!

I feel so uncomfortable in my own skin.

Anyone????

SuzieQ, congrats on 23 days! I wasn't there too long ago, and I remember feeling like I wanted to crawl out of my skin.

it takes a while to fit into your own skin and find other things to take up your time and feel better about yourself. I cant say that I have been great about it either, but all the free time to read, learn about addiction, watch a movie and remember I watched it, sleep well, is so much better than the feelings I was going through from drinking.

to me, patience is the key, and when the time is right, you will rebuild your life in a positive way and move forward!

For me, there was so much healing that has / still has to take place, that I have been very gentle on myself.

you can do this!

I started going for long long walks to fill the time, picked up old hobbies, playing guitar, reading books I'd been meaning to read for years, checking out some box set marathons, online gaming even raised it's head!!

Hang in there!!

As many light and funny movies and fun books as you can handle if kids allow for it.

Congrats on 23 days, Suzieq.

Walking always helped to divert my attention but the weather isn't always safe or conducive to walking in the winter. Do you have a Mall nearby where you can walk?
