Ready for change
Ready for change
I have been trying to control my alcohol intake for years with little success. It all started out as a fun way to make me more sociable. I have now gotten to the point where I am sick of it. I don't even enjoy it anymore. Last night I drank in excess as my "last hoo-rah" and I'm paying for it today. However, I am determined to follow through with my plan on last night being my last night... ever. So today is my day one. I am excited to see who I can be without a crutch.

Hi.
Welcome and dig in. Positive determination is a great start to lasting sobriety.
Try to remember that if you don’t pick up the first drink one day at a time in a row you won’t have to try to get sober again. Ever!
BE WELL

Update: The hangover is gone and some frustrations have me craving alcohol! However, I am not giving in. I know life has to be better, calmer, happier, & more fulfilled on the other side. I got this. After all, I am probably craving how alcohol once made me feel. It now does not do a thing for me except make me act stupid and hurt my innards. Talking out my feelings on here is nice.

By the way Jazzy you may want to check out the Class of January 2015 thread.

I find that the people that quit drinking in December when I did have been my support and we have grown close as a group. I am sure you will find the same with your January 2015 Class.
Just a thought.
