Hello
I am up late as usual because ever since I started this battle trying to quit drinking I cant get to sleep. My struggle is my struggle. Very proud person so its hard for me to admit let alone ask for help. So made this and just reaching out for a listening ear and some advice and support. I go by kiio (keyo). Happy new years everyone.
Welcome Kiio. Congratulations on your decision to live a sober life.
Insomnia is common for many in early sobriety. Normally it passes in a week or 2. Just got to ride it out while the body makes the adjustments to its new chemistry.

Hi, Kiio. The insomnia gets MUCH better. Just get through the first couple weeks and you will start to notice many, many positive physical changes.
Good luck. I hope you will post often and let us know how you are doing.

Pleased to meet you kiio.
I found it hard to open up here in the beginning, but once I got started it felt really good to unburden myself. Everyone understood - and I found the courage to get and stay sober. You're in good company. Not sleeping is normal early on - it does get better. Glad to have you here with us.
