Talking This is what sobriety has done lol

Okay.....

I'm a figure skater....both roller (unknown sport) and ice.....

I'm also gay and have been in love with doing drag for awhile....

So, I'm thinking I could be "Brigett Sparkles" - Roller Queen of the Universe....what do you think? lol

Again, being sober has given me a lot of free time to focus on other things........drag will never make me any money, but it's fun :-) I just need to figure out a way to do it..........having a special talent helps in drag, and as far as I know, I'm the only one that can land double salchows :-)

Almost a month sober - YAY!

FYI: This is why my name is Donny"lutz" - Lutz is a name of a jump in figure skating

Here is me winning the 2012 adult national championships:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wURB...GmXg8v1ivZylOg

And here is me in 2014, finishing 4th, only because I was fat/bloated/lazy/full of booze...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSfv...GmXg8v1ivZylOg

To me, it shows every reason why I'm going to stay sober!

To me, this is such a perfect example of sober/drunk - healthy/un-healthy

Are you sure you're not Milk from Drag Race season six? Huge drag fan here. Milk is a former skater. Are you a fan of the dhow?

Oh my god you can be my new BFF. Huge skating fan here too. I just watched and LOVED your 2012 performance. Amazing! Great choreography and I always like skaters who maintain speed throughout the program, especially coming out of jumps.

Missed the last few seasons?!?! You must catch up. They are streamable on amazon prime. Love BeBe.

The 2012 performance was amazing! I lost count of the number of landed doubles.

:-) Thank you!

I posted this to show the difference of "in control alcoholic" and "alcoholic".......................I hope to be back in 2016 to show "recovering alcoholic" but the sport is dying fast.......I may have to go back to ice. I'm roller my blood, but I grew to love ice even more.........it's a touchy subject with my family lol.

I wish I could edit this post.........I feel like it's a perfect example of being somewhat healthy and losing everything to alcohol........I hope to compete again to regain myself. We'll see :-)

Hi and congrats on almost a month!

I really like your video's.

I love roller skating though I really suck at it. Could be because I was usually not very sober doing it, kind of scared of falling. Maybe you could put up a how to video! I'll try and help keep the art alive.

Falling is the first thing you should learn!.......and it's the reason I have a big butt lol.

Try to fall on your ass - don't use your hands to stop you. Your butt can take it, wrists break/sprain etc, your ass doesn't lol.

Hahah maybe I should use a pillow then :P

I'm only on day 7 and my appetite is not quite good yet but this is a great motivation to eat more than I am doing now. Did fall on my hands once and I had hundreds of pieces of gravel in them I had to tweeze out, that was awful indeed.

Did you teach yourself or were you in a club? How old were you when you started? There's no roller clubs near me but I also have ice skates so I might just look into that.

I started roller skating when I was 12, joined a roller club at 14, competed for a few years, left and went to ice when I was 17, never competed, just skating for fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9274NPqYnsE

Then went back to roller skating 3 years ago and started competing again.

I'm in a club but roller skating is a dying sport....the only coach in my region moved so I'm now the most senior freestyle skater, and I'm NOT a good coach as I don't know technique at all lol.......but you are are NEVER too old to skate, it's a healthy and happy sport, roller or ice!

Grats on a month. I have to wonder is this more difficult than figure skating on ice? I would think so because the roller skates can slide side to side. I played hockey my entire childhood so I know ice. Just curious.

Congrats Donny!

You are very talented!

You can do anything you set your mind to, especially sober.

(true about falling on your butt I fell over the holidays at the mall and landed on my butt, but for the life of me I couldn't understand why I never hurt myself, now I know lol)
