Day 5 done. My plan

Well It's 9:15 and I'm home safe with no drink. So I have decided to seek out a specialist in addiction (counseling), AA and using this site. I am also taking Campral for cravings.

This may seem like a ton of work, but I don't need AA EVERY day, and counseling is once a week.

Also, for those of you who don't know my story, I am always plagued by alcohol being around me while at work. So, my work is sending me off site to work for a client. It's a corporate environment so there will be no booze around. This is huge for me, as seeing alcohol around me is always a trigger, and 9 times out of 10 is the reason I pick up on the way home.

I don't really worry about drinking after having a lousy day or anything like that anymore. It's almost always because I'm around it in unavoidable situations.

By my math, it looks like you have 4 different components to your plan. Very nice!

Hi.
I hope you continue with your sobriety for a long time.

It amazes me that we in early sobriety know what we “need.” My needs got me into AA many years ago and I’m confused at times as to what I need, and I still get to 3-5 meetings a week.

Perhaps I should look at the expression “some are sicker than others.”

I do know I don’t need to drink even if my butt falls off.

BE WELL

Hope day 6 and the start of Day 7 are going OK Justin. If your plan includes SR please don't be a stranger.
