Which one do we feed?
One evening, an elderly Cherokee brave told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said "my son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is evil. it is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good. it is joy, peace love, hope serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
The grandson though about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
Which wolf wins?... the old Cherokee simply replied,
"the one that you feed"
BE WELL

I read this one a lot while drinking. It made no sense to me. I was so negative it was impossible to not feed the bad one. What a surprise this makes so much sense to me now. And it requires a lot less energy to feed the good one.

One thing that I find in sobriety is life is a series of choices. On a daily basis I ask myself is this choice moving me toward sobriety or away. When I look at lifes daily struggles through this filter it makes decisions so much easier. My alcoholic mind is continually trying to make me choose the wrong decision but today I try to feed the right wolf as often as possible.
