I'm an addict , my name is darryl
I want to say hello and give gratitude for another tool on recovery .
I have read some great topics and feel this to be a great forum to be part of.
My journey started 2 and a half years ago, I feel I am just starting to understand addiction. I continually ask my higher power to guide me for his will along this journey. I often find myself trying to take control. The disease is very cunning.
I am proud to say that I have made great changes within, but much more is still needed. One day at a time, I have never been happier. Some simple words from early recovery ive learned to cherish.. Keep coming back... It gets better, more will be revealed ...
i am grateful for the fellowship , the first time I felt accepted.

Hi and welcome.
Your post is a great eye opener for those wondering is the effort worth the end result. I’ll say from a lot of years experience observing people sobering up that it gets better and better and better IF WE LET IT.
Many when they are feeling good and life is going well start to have “stinking thinking” thoughts and that’s when we have to do battle with our AV.
We need to remember that alcohol is cunning, baffling, powerful and insidious.
