On day two and sick????
I'm very nauseated, on the verge of vomiting. Is this normal? Anyone else go through this? Been drinking everyday for last four years, whiskey/vodka straight up. I'm trying just to tough it out. Don't like going in to Doc. Any advice other than the ginger ale I've asked my husband to bring home?
I had sweats in bed at night, would wake up soaked and then one moment later I would have to put on a fresh shirt because I felt so chilled, I think that's quite common and certainly was my experience too.
Cold sweats and dizziness may indicate that your body is going into shock I strongly urge you to go to the ER. This isn't a matter of pride this is your health. You can't be hard-headed if you are in a coma.
Detoxification from alcohol can be life threatening and/or life altering (strokes and seizures).
I would feel like absolute death until day 2.5 or day 3. By day 4, the only thing that remained was a mild tremor in my hand. It's 10.5 months later (I sought medical attention), and my hands are as stable as a surgeons.

My head has all over the place for the first period, the body can't adjust or repair years of drinking in a matter of days!!
Alcohol withdrawal if a serious business though, and can be dangerous, so that Dr appt might be a good idea to be safe!!

Standing, I am hard headed too. But I couldn't take my condition anymore. I made an appt. with my Dr. that day and told him all about my drinking...yikes..To my surprise he did not give me a lecture, but what he did do was write me a script for some anti-anxiety meds. I took them at home and instantly I felt better and slept better. In about 3 days I was off the meds and feeling much better. You don't have to go through what you're going through, go see your Dr. Like others have posted...withdrawal from alcohol without help is very dangerous. Best wishes.
Thank you to all for your care and concern. I was able to eat with the family and felt better from eating something. I may just call Doc tomorrow. Here's to another day of no booze and that in itself makes me feel good.
