Exclamation suboxone successful taper plan

I am seeking advice on how to properly taper down from 8mg suboxone strips? Here is my story- I have 3 herniated disks and 6 severely degenerative disks in my back that was the result of a accident and wear and tear. I was turned down twice for surgery and was introduced to a pain management specialist in 2007. I had the steroid injections done and was put on 360 hydrocodiene pills and 100mgrms of fentanyl patch every 48 hours. After 3 years of this and a failing marriage, I asked to be weaned down to eventually nothing and the Dr's response was no and his job was to keep my pain minimal to zero. I couldn't accept that answer and when I got home I called a rehabilitation facility and told them my story and they said pack a bag and come in for a consult and they would most likely insert me on the spot into the prograprogram which they did. I spent 9 days in there and it was not easy, but it was by far a much better option than trying to quit on my own. After the 4th day and the withdrawal pretty heavy I was introduced to a miracle medicine called suboxone! I know you all can relate to that 1st description of this medicine? I had befriended 1 of the residents who was already on the suboxone and he was a heroine/meth addict and he told me that it was the best choice he ever made getting on suboxone and the withdrawal symptoms just disappeared after taking the 1st 8mg pill. Well who does not like the potential to take your withdrawl away just like that? I agreed and sure enough my withdrawl symptoms were gone! A miracle medicine? Oh if we only knew then what we know now? I decided last Tuesday 12/30/14 that I was done and I disregarded all of the horror stories posted on numerous sit's and thinking the power of your mind and willingness will help you prevail no matter what? Wrong again! I jumped off at 8mg and after the 3rd day I now know what people mean when you say your in your own personal hell! I made it to today 1/5/15 and that's where I need advice? I could not gonly 1 more minute much less another day! So I went to my appointment today and after taking just 1 8mg strip I feel like a million bucks! I would very much appreciate advice on how to do the fastest taper correctly from here? My sub Dr wants to draw this thing out long term and I don't want that! I have always passed my drug screens and my labs each year are all good so I'm not in any danger of being excused from the program! I would like to be totally done by the end of March if possible? I used to be a guyear that would only take aspirin or ibuprofen for pain and I want that back! I think I have been on subs far to long and the word maintenance is just inserted for long term and a continual infusion of profits for the so called certified Dr's that can only prescribe it! I have not had any problems while taking subs, I just want to be clean of any opiates or chemicals in my body! You do find a lot about yourself when you foolishly try a cold turkey detox and there are psychological and physical pains that puts you in a state of mind that you cry, pray, and even suicidal thought just to get it over with! But we're all here for a reason and purpose and hopefully we all suceed! If there was no withdrawl then everyone would probably be doing it?

I suggest you speak with your physician again and explain your concerns and desires. If you don't hear what you want, seek a 2nd opinion. If the 2nd opinion agrees with the 1st opinion, then listen to and follow the prescribed treatment protocol given to you.

This forum, from what I understand, cannot provide medical advice, nor should it.
