Day 277
I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year! I had a few co workers over who all drank and my gf was smoking with her friends and I just was in the midst of the partying felt weird having my first New Years without a drink in my hand probably since I've been 18 years old. It wasn't easy but it was another test that I passed now I have another one tomorrow. My sister got me and my girlfriend celtics tickets for Xmas for tomorrow nights game! Regardless of how bad my favorite teams are I stay through the thick and thin. Either way sporting events are tough because of the massive amounts of alcohol being sold sne consumed, I've grown past it though and look at these events as life tests. It doesn't hurt to be different anymore though some look at you like your a alien when you tell the you don't drink as if you had just committed a crime and should be locked up and throw away the key.
In closing continue the fight it's possible it may be one of the hardest things you've tried in your lifetime but your not alone and your will shall be tested to the extremes you have to dig deep deep down and pull out your bravest of the brave and realize who's life you are living and how you want be and what you believe in and stick with it!

Thank you for sharing Brad. You sound really solid in your sobriety and aware of possible speed bumps. I just had my first sober New Year's eve as well. Wasn't it nice to wake up the next day without a hangover?
Congrats on racking up a respectable foundation of sober time!
Isn't it amazing? Who'd have thought you can actually go to a sporting event or mark a special occasion like New Year without pouring poison in your body????
WEIRD!!
Way to go!

Thanks everybody for the posts! It sure did feel good to wake up on the first except I had to go to work lol other than that it's amazing living this life I never saw myself living but I don't regret making this choice 277 days ago not one bit! Their are those days were you feel like giving in but then you remind yourself how far you've come to turn back now which makes it that much easier to avoid the temptations! I'm off to Boston shortly for a day in the city with the gf followed by a night at the TD garden watching the Boston Celtics game! Hope everyone has a great day today!
