8 hours away from day 5

I am trying incredibly hard to keep my mind occupied. Day 4 has always been th worst for me. By the end of day 4, im pounding a bottle back. I need to get to 12am. I get butterflies thinking about getting to day 7. It's so close but so damn far. I'm heading out to go watch a movie with a friend to make these hours go by. Wish me luck! I need keep my AV distracted

Hang in there, you can do this.
Day 4 & 5 were my worst, I got told that it's because there is absolutely no alcohol left in your system at all by then. Don't know if that's right....
Enjoy your movie, day 7 will be here before you know it.

Great job being proactive! Be sure to not let yourself too hungry. This is a good time to treat yourself to snacks of your choice! Getting through this trial will be a win for you. Don't give up!

Great work! Thinking about how good I'll feel in the morning compared to a hangover always helps me.

I find that when I get the urge I need to get out and do something. Doing something fun that is, not just an ordinary errand. Getting something new pumping through your veins. Get that initial excitement of doing something new gets me over the hump.

Even going to the library and getting a book on something you want to learn is cool.

That first week can be really tough. I doubt this'll make it go by any quicker, but it does get easier. Keep up the good work!

Congrats on 4days Scared! Movies is a great choice of a distracting non drinking activity. Try not to worry about staying sober tomorrow or day 7, just focus on the day your in. Worrying about staying sober in the future causes too much anxiety, too much pressure. Hang in there , believe in yourself!

Thanks everyone! I am fighting the AV right now. So tough. It's telling me I can handle it tonight...bahhh. Why are alcoholic urges so harsh

Scared you are doing awesome! Do you have any sober/non-drinking people in your life? Maybe it would help to surround yourself with them? It does for me, and to drink flavored fizzy water and eat sugar don't let the beast win you are stronger!

You are doing great Scared. Just slam the door on the AV.
Each day gets easier. Do not think that just because you had issues on day 4begire that it will happen again. You are stronger now having learned from the past.
We are here with you.

Nearly have 3 days up my sleeve. Appetite is back and so is my craving. Just got back home from work and the first thing I did was get onto this site. It's good to know I'm not alone however this is tuff. Gonna wash the car and grab an ice cold "Fanta" to take my mind of things and hopefully sleep better. Thx all.

Around day five is definitely tough. The cravings are strong but if you make it those extra couple days it can and will get easier.
