Dreamed about wanting a drink

I had a dream last night that I was with a drunk friend that I haven't seen in years and I wanted a drink bad. I woke up wanting a drink. I am 2 months sober today. Am I going nuts? Has my cheese slid off my cracker?

Drinking dreams are fairly common, retiredusaf.

Congratulations on two months.

Congrats on two months!
I have drinking dreams too, but they say it's normal.
I've woken up being able to smell alcohol before!
Do you still want the drink?

Drinking dreams are common in recovery. Pay no attention to them. Congrats on two months sober!

Hadn't heard that cracker/cheese expression before. Thanks for the laugh out loud moment.
Yes, I had lots of drinking dreams also but thankfully not for a few weeks.

Good job on two months! That's great. And drinking dreams are common. They can be scary and upsetting. But don't drink over them. It's just a dream.

And I loved the cheese and crackers expression. I'm hungry now

I had one the other night about drinking with my friends having a great time.... Then I woke up and remembered where I woke up last time I drank with my friends... The tailgate of a 2013 GMC Sierra doesn't make for a comfortable bed.

Oh and being covered in dried blood and not knowing how it got there or how I got to the truck.... Yeah that pretty much takes any of the "romance" that the dream gave me about my drinking days...

Drinking dreams are the WORST!! I used to let them shake me up for days after. Now I try to see them for what they are - just another creepy tool my AV tries to use to send me back to the bottle. They're a minor irritation on my sober path now, not a roadblock. I'm stronger than the dream & you are too.

Congrats on 2 months!!

Yeah, if you're anything like me, you'll just get used to them. Usually I'm already off the wagon in mine. I have them 3-4 times a week. Just learn to ride them out, they're only dreams. And, I'm almost 8 months.
