day 1

Well this is official day 1 since I had to have a drink between detox and dr. appointment yesterday to avoid serious withdrawal.

Not a big deal since I have medicine and a doctor's advice, but it's still not pleasant. I'll be fine though.

I won't have the entire year of 2015 sober, but I feel great about getting clean and being productive all year.

I'm so glad you have a plan in place to detox safely! You can do this! It gets sooo much better! :-)

Yeah I've had months sober before. I just failed because my sister and niece died and from the holidays.

Not really an excuse to get drunk, but it is what it is.

Wow. Sorry to hear that Justin. I really am. I lost a friend during the "holidays" too. There's not much anyone can say, except that we all know what grief feels like.

I hope 2015 is a good year for you.

Lose is terrible to deal with at anytime, but especially around this set of holidays. I've experienced this and the old saying of its gets better is true, but waves of anxiety/depression are also true. Stay in contact with with a sponsor and other AAer's and don't hide it from them.
