No Contact - Poetry
11 days since the break up with the mentally abusive, cheating ABF. (I'm 6 months pregnant with his son.) Trying to let the feelings of anger replace the needy-codependent sobbing. Wrote these this morning:
Consequential Child
Did you ever feel the baby kick
any of those times
i’d force your
drunken hand onto my core?
Did you resent
the biological evidence
of your poor choices?
the culmination of consequences
your lies,
your manipulations,
your addictions,
They all divided into a trillion cells
that grew into another human
who will never know your name.
Welfare
When you found out
I applied
You called me the N word
and ‘white trash’
all in the same sentence.
But, if I remember correctly,
you were the one
getting drunk,
smoking blunts,
leeching off of your baby’s mama,
and fleeing the scene
when she asked for help.
