What is everyone doing tonight?

Happy, Healthy, Loving, & abundance of prosperity to everyone this new year <3
What are everyone's plans this evening?
I will be working 3-11 with the job I surprisingly still have, I also have an interview for part time at another place on Wednesday just incase I get canned next week after the holidays. I also Will Not be drinking tonight or at all this year!
New Year's Eve is just as cliche as Valentines day, remember that. We always feel we need someone to love us on that particular day & New Year's Eve we feel we need to party & "be somebody".
So won't it be nice to start the new year off with loving our selves & waking up into a new year completely sober & refreshed? Blessings to everyone & a Happy new year <3

Hi, Raven!

Congrats on decision to meet this New Year sober!

I agree - it's more of a cliche.

I am going to spend this evening here, with my dear SR friends.

It's my 3d sober New Year eve, and 3d year with SR. It's turning into quite a tradition to me.

Happy New Year!

Watching TV and going to bed at 10. Same as it ever was. I didn't go out on NYE when I was drinking--too many inexperienced drunk drivers on the roads. For real--amateurs scare me.

I'm going to the pub!!!!!

But only so my partner can have a pint of beer, then we'll be walking back home (by torchlight as there are no street lights where we live) and seeing the New Year in with tonic water and telly! And I'll be on SR too. I just loved it here last year! :

I'm planning on going back to an AA meeting tonight. First time i went to them was the start of the year and stayed off alcohol for 3 weeks then went back to my old ways.

Its taken nearly a year of drinking and feeling depressed to get back to the stage of giving AA another go, it must of helped, i'd never stayed off drink for three weeks since i started drinking a long time ago.

Happy new year.!

my wife and i always called nyeve "amateur night". so, we stay off the roads, and tell the kids to do the same. i kinda remember last year, as got hammered. this year will be my first since i was in the service that im not going to be drinking alc.

we have a movie, some appetizers, sparkling grape, and wife got me some cream soda. it'll be neat to remember it! LOL!

A simple dinner out at Black Angus Steak Restaurant

Ice tea for me and the wife usually orders one glass of wine and barely finishes it.

That's sure not how I used to drink.

going to my local aa meeting tonight we will have our own mini party getting drunk on tea and coffee and having a bit of a laugh the members bring in food and party hats etc so it should be fun

been to one meeting today already and it was really powerful some of the memebers are really struggling one is losing his daughter she is at deaths door in hospital, an old timers wife has incurable cancer another memeber buries his mum 2 days ago

so not everyone out there is going to have a ball it shows me how much people suffer even on new years eve as life doesnt have a day off

what would i want to worry about ? picking a drink up on new years eve or losing someone ?

my all peoples problems in this world be small ones, good luck to you all in the next year

It is an absolutely beautiful cool day
here in Baton Rouge after a few glum
cloudy days passed. We got out to ride
in the car and stopped at our local Lowes
and a Mexican restaurant for lunch.

After the meal, we stopped at school
not far from us that has a walk that
whins around and if you walk around
the track 4 times it equals up to a mile.

So, I walked a mile and will continue
doing that each day to get ready for
our Daytona trip on the bike.

We are home safe and sound off the
streets and sober. I'll be here till about
7ish on SR then watch tv with my husband
and off to lalaland. Happy, Healthy and
Honest in recovery.

Happy safe sober New Years to my SR
Family.

I'm staying home with the critters, out of reach of the drunk drivers. Will probably eat chips and watch Star Trek tos and go to bed when I get tired.

I am going to a party hosted by friends I've known for over 30 years and my wife has known the husband for almost 50. I'll be sober, but even still I hate driving on NYE. Fortunately the party is only 2 miles away so the odds of encountering some drunk moron behind the wheel are low.

A happy and safe start to the new year!
