Anyone else feel like they cant breathe during hangover?

I keep getting this weird thing happen to me the day after drinking, where i feel like im forgetting to breathe and i cant catch my breathe. It feels like im suffocating or choking. Its also accompanied by heart palpitations.

Now i havnt drunk for 5 days and im not drinking into the new year, but has anyone experienced this? im assuming its the alcohol but im a little scared that its something else.

After a couple of days it goes but the palpitations stay. Its nearly new year and im not going through this again, im just a little worried. I know i should see a doctor but i just wanted some real life experiences.

Anyway, Happy new year, hopefully this will be the best year for a long time.

Anxiety can cause the shortness of breath, but so can something serious. Please see a Dr or go to the ER for a peace of mind.

It does sound like anxiety, Bradley, but best to check with your doctor.

Happy New Year!

Sounds like physical withdrawals to me, but it's best to go to the ER if you are having shortness of breath and heart palpitations. They will get worse ( physical withdrawals )as time goes on and you keep drinking, and people can and do die from them.

There is however a 100 percent effective cure for withdrawals should you choose to use it.

Sounds like anxiety related to withdrawal. I've gone through this. See your doctor to rule anything out. Be honest about your alcohol consumption. Don't drink. It will only make it worse.
