Yeah... I've found that many people (especially young) tend to romanticize the idea of death. Or dying. I'm not getting into a discussion about this here, but I do think that associating alcohol (or anything) with this will make it an eye candy and will rub many people's imagination. Sad reality. Or they just find it funny because they were never close to death in any form. Imagine taking that stuff to a party and showing it off. Humans can be a little crazy and of course the industry takes advantage of it.
I wonder how "Dry Vodka" or "Sober Vodka" sell?

For a good portion of my life, drinking yourself to near death, or doing some kind of act and nearly escaping death was actually looked upon as a badge of honor or a cherished story to tell around the campfire at the next drinking session. It's not really surprising that some would market alcohol in this way to me as some view it as exactly that - a tool to defy death with.
In my younger drinking days I would have bought that and didn't even drink Vodka.
Alcohol advertising is the same as it is for any other product. The idea is to get you to buy it. This would have worked on me.

Unfortunatly these kind of advert have appeal
in the uk a few years ago there was a notorious shot drink called aftershock being able to drink that was like a badge of honor
its sad really but when i was younger i would have considered this a cool drink because of its name
im glad im not like that no more and further proves how powerful an advert can be
