Well, that was quite difficult

Just took my dog out for her morning walk and passed so many people loading cars with presents, kids out playing with their new toys and people off to visit family. I'm gonna be alone and a big part of that is because of my drinking past. Don't want to bring the atmosphere down today so I'm gonna take the positive view that things are on the up and maybe next year I'll have a family of my own again. Merry Xmas everybody.

Merry Christmas O!!

This season can be rough. I've been there. We are here for you and remember that this is but one day of a lifetime of days and - in sobriety - there will be joy, there will be pain, there will be togetherness and loneliness.

It all ebbs and flows. Seek even the smallest of things to be grateful for. Allow yourself to feel joy for the people you see around you. Allow yourself to give YOU some comfort in your sense of sadness. Allow yourself to FEEL it, all of it!!!

Sobriety and life are a great gift!! That you can be happy for! Merry Christmas!

merry christmas. i spoke to my daughter this morning and i would give anything to see her today, but that's how it is this year. it will get better.

i'm alone til later today. i've put xmas songs on the telly and i'm going for a long hot bath in a bit. it's ok. alive and sober is more than enough as a gift for me this year.

be well. you're not alone.

Merry Christmas, owington. There's so much going on in SR today, you don't have to be alone.

Merry Christmas, owington.

I am sure that walk this morning was difficult. Sometimes loneliness just 'smacks'.

Tons of stuff to do on SR with some truly amazing folks. Let SR be your family today.

You're a great bunch and I appreciate all the replies. Turns out Xmas alone isn't so bad, Watching Netflix, eating when I want and catching up on some sleep. Hope you all are enjoying yourselves too.

Merry Christmas

Yea I was just thinking myself about all the people I lost as friends due to my drinking, due to me drinking to help me socialize better. Ironic, huh?
It's only one day. I'm with my sister who doesn't even celebrate Christmas. Lots of people don't. That's a wonderful attitude you have. Keep it up and things will certainly improve for U.
