So we had the family event - his brother was hungover & on a downer (coke) but went well. But he is having a shandy - lowest alcohol but am worried about it.. Will it lead to relapse?

Alcohol content is irrelevant. Mine got drunk on Nyquil (that's over the counter cold medicine for your info across the pond!).

any alcohol can lead to relapse and is a very bad beginning to the holiday if he has drinking issues.
