Starting to feel a bit better.

That tells me this is the time to be extra vigilant.

When I'm struggling, suffering, swimming in depression and shame from a relapse, I have a feeling of desperation to stay sober that will keep me that way, temporarily.

The further I get from that feeling the closer I get to my next drink. That is what experience has shown me.

Going to a meeting today, talking with my sponsor, and saying my daily prayers today to stay on track.

This is something I could have written. I know that cycle all too well. I'm really glad you recognized it before you picked up. It's encouraging to me that you've got a plan in place to prevent you from a downfall. Thank you for sharing. I needed that today.

I follow a similar pattern. Recognizing it is helpful but it all comes down to not taking that first drink and truly accepting where it will always, always lead. Good job on 12 days, keep it going.
