Day 264

Been a while since I have posted on here because my iPhone wouldn't let me but I just switched from sprint to Verizon and got a new phone so hopefully I can be more active on here. I've been slowly improving the quality of my life day by day. Going to see a ENT specialist to hopefully have my deviated septum looked at and fixed sometime this year. It's still crazy to think at 25 I've been sober for 264 days and am 101 days away from a year! I've had a lot of tests in the past few weeks the biggest being my brothers 30th birthday at Foxwoods last week a lot of drinking going on but I did win in my first spin on roulette then cashed out and called it a night for gambling. I felt left out not drinking like people didn't want to conversation with me because they were drink and I wasn't. I'm glad I brought my gf with me who isn't much of a drinker either she's more of a smoker so I had her smoking and everyone else drinking I managed to make it up to 4am before I passed out I don't think anybody else slept people were in and out of the bathroom doing drugs and what not. Anyways it was fun to see everyone else at breakfast all hungover and begging for water and all baggy eyes and tired faces and I was refreshed and ready to drive home.

It's a crazy world we live in and I'm glad I've made this choice it's been a huge eye opener on how much I took for granted and how much I didn't appreciate this life I have and my health and mind it's only one shot. I know I can continue to succeed if I keep this state of mind just have to block out the non sense on the way more big tests this holiday season with the family drinking around Xmas and New Years cheers to all those who are doing it sober and have been doing it for much longer than I have! I hope everyone has a great and safe Xmas and New Years!

Thanks for sharing and congrats on 264 days. It's really inspiring to see someone of your age starting adult life on a solid footing of sobriety. Sadly that's about the age I allowed drugs and alcohol to start taking hold of my life, so hats off to you sir for good choices.

Nice work. I'm in my mid 20's too, and it can be challenging being surrounded by drinkers/drug users. I've decided to slowly break away from that scene and want nothing to do with it, but there are moments that I have to confront it (a brothers birthday party is a good example). Congrats on staying sober. Life is awesome this way.

YOU my man totally rock. At 25, doing this, I really admire you.

Man your post as you have been doing. Nothing to envy in others people self destruction. Looking forward to celebrating your one year, in 101 days.
