My 8 year old step son asked his mom to take him to the store so he can buy us presents. His mom took him to a local store called 5 & Below (everything is $5 or less) to go shopping. So my step son beings his presents over & wants us to open them up. What was my present, you ask? Mine was a hugs a$$ wine glass, the packaging boasts that it can hold 1 full bottle of wine.

I gave my step son a hug & thanked him for thinking of me. He told me that his mom helped him pick out a gift for me. I had to chuckle to myself because I was never a wine drinker (vodka was my liquor of choice) and, well, I'm not drinking anymore!

I thought it was an amusing gift....so I filled it up with water & enjoyed my new glass!

That was very sweet of him to think of you! I'm sure he was very excited that you were appreciative and though he doesn't know it yet, very happy that you filled it with healthy, wonderful, life-giving water. It's always good to be reminded of how much young children observe about us, even if they don't fully understand.

You could give it a place of honor in your home and fill it with seasonal treats - Holiday wrapped Hershey Kisses, Valentine's Day candy, miniature Easter eggs. . . . .

That is definitely a good idea!!!! It was really sweet for him to think of me & I was touched by him wanting to buy me a gift. I always doubt myself when it comes to this step-mom thing & this gift made me feel like I am not too shabby after all. ;-)

I love this!!!! I have a Michael's craft store right up the street. The next time he comes over we can make some cool sand art!
