I've been sacked by some nasty flu bug all weekend, and so much about it reminds me of the last day of a bender and the subsequent withdrawals (lost days, chills, nausea, all-over body ache, headache, etc). The thing that's missing is the crushing, withering anxiety/depression that turns all those other symptoms up to 11 and makes it seem like they'll never end. I'm sure this isn't a new observation but it's a good one for me to share. Bottom line, I had 90 days the other day, I've never been so grateful to feel so terrible, and I'm looking forward to my first sober holidays in 20 years. Here's wishing peace and sobriety to all on SR. You've all helped me a lot this year. Love and sincere thanks from my screen to yours.

I had the same thoughts yesterday, feeling rubbish with colds etc. but no hangover, gotta be a blessing in there somewhere.
