Advice

I'm 21 and currently reviewing my way of life, I have drunk roughly everyday for the past 3 years most of the time being my own during weekdays, recently I have noticed a number of health and social problems of which include trouble sleeping if I haven't drunk and also lack of want to socialize if it doesn't involve drinking. I was just wondering if anyone on here had any advice. Any help would be appreciated.

Glad you posted.

You are intelligent and wise. I wasted 20 years trying to control my drinking. Addressing this at such an early age is brilliant.

I agree - I waited too long to do something about my alcohol dependency. It's great to have you here - this is a good place to talk things over. Plenty of support and encouragement. Welcome!

It's great that you notice the problems and are seeking information and support.

Have you considered stopping drinking?

you are doing the right thing. the best thing to do is to stop drinking and see how you react.

there is such good advice here and at AA on how to get your life back. you will be amazed at what you find out about yourself once you stop drinking.

90 days sober may be something to consider, or even just 30 days? I didn't give sobriety a chance at that age. Drinking was just something I did, like eating or sleeping. Like Pat, and many others, I spent a long time trying to moderate (it didn't work). At least you have the wisdom to notice something's going on.

Welcome!

Read, read, read. Post, post, post.

This place has really helped me by educating me about the wide range that is alcoholism, problem drinking... Whatever you want to call it.

You have met us, now you'll never be alone.
