Unsure

Thought things were going well but I am sliggtly suspicious that my BF could still be drinking small amounts; small glass sized wine bottles (found one in bin store) & he had can of something (redbull sized or mixer size) in bag.

Do I confront him?

No point in confronting him. Keep your eyes open; more will be revealed.

You're instincts are probably right on. Think about what this means for your relationship with BF.

There is usually a cycle where alcoholics stop for awhile to try and placate us, but often they begin to drink small amounts secretly again with an idea they can "manage" their drinking.

Unfortunately, they pretty much can't, and it will increase and become obvious.
Hence, time does tell in the end.

I'm sorry you are going through this, especially around the holidays Catareta.

Catareta....There is no point in asking him if he is drinking. (most deny it, anyway). You already know that he is. It is a situation that you will have to deal with, at some point, though. I think that FeelinGreat hits a good point---to think about what this means for your relationship with him. This is what is really important.

We had an awful day yesterday - attempted burglary and all I wanted was a drink! But he admitted he was bringing me into his drinking & admitted he has had a sneaky one (well 3)

I wasn't angry as he is just unwell - and he hasn't broken my boundaries.
The crime means we have to move due to safety so we wont be near a shop.
