16 days sober - bad day

Hi - tried several times and I get a white screen. Maybe the website is experiencing a high volume of traffic?

Thanks!

I went back into the office today after 2 weeks of being off. My morning was okay (maybe a little irritable). Then came the afternoon. I had a panic attack in the women's bathroom. I forced myself to workout with lots of anxiety! Then I had to make the 20 mile drive home through heart pounding traiffic. As I was driving, I remembered that I have small bottle of wine in my trunk. I fought the desire to open my trunk and take a swig of wine. I called my sponsor and she talked me out of it and told me to throw away the bottle.

I home and better now. I'm concerned with the sudden panic attack and anxiety after two weeks of sobriety. I'm prone to both, so I suppose they were going to rear their ugly head sooner or later.

I'm sorry to hear that happened but it sounds like you handled it not only well, but in a healthy way! You even overcame the hidden obstacle later.

Proud of you SarahB, that's pretty awesome!

Sarah, great job with calling your sponsor and pouring out the wine. How are you feeling right now?

Pat yourself on the back, Sarah; you did well today.

Have you thought about yoga or meditation for your anxiety. Maybe read up on breathing techniques to relieve stress that you can utilize if you find yourself in a stressful traffic situation.

Well done, Sarah! You did an awesome job in the face of some stressful stuff! I second the yoga recommendation; it is truly restorative!
