Finding my voice

A beautiful day eight for me...and I'm realizing (duh) that I do INDEED have a voice...AND that I can use my voice to say NO!!

For YEARS I believed I was a hopeless alcoholic....that I had NO CHOICE but to drink...that I wasn't as strong as the booze...that relapse was just part of the deal and that my life would be a never ending cycle of failure, guilt and shame.

Not any more! I forgot I had a choice! Wow...what a liberating and empowering concept! I'm finding my voice again and it feels pretty damn good!

I just used my voice to kindly tell my friends to keep me out of their drunken shenanigans tonight!....don't think I've been on the receiving end of a drunken phone call in a really long time!

Hey...I could really get used to this!
