Feeling like I'm going to crack

I have no idea why. Things were going pretty well -- from a sobriety standpoint, anyhow.

But now I'm feeling like I can't possibly make it another day. Is this just my AV screaming out? If I weather the storm it will pass...I just need to get through today.

What do you mean you feel like you can't make it another day? What will happen if you DON'T drink?

How long have you been sober? I'm familiar with these feelings, but they don't last forever. And the intensity you might be feeling will lessen in time as well.

Ride the Wave. Don't give in.

It can be especially difficult in the beginning, NightNDay, as you learn to navigate your way in life without alcohol but it does get easier with time. Don't give up; the rewards of sobriety will come with time.

Stay close to us; we walk this path together.

Yes, you can get through this, and by doing that, it will be easier the next time.

Please hang on and keep reading and posting.

Great question. Stopped me in my tracks.

If I DON'T drink I will have to think about all the problems in my life (financial, family, etc.) If I'm sober I will have to face up to all the damage I'm done.

Drinking sounds better right now because at least it would make me feel good for a few minutes. Right now I feel awful. I'm broke and my life is in shambles.

Nightnday, great job on one month sober. You've come a long way, don't give in now. Drinking will never make life's problems go away or easier to deal with. It took me 20+ years of heavy drinking to finally figure this out.

All drinking does is compound the problems, by slowly taking everything that you have.

Stay strong!

What is wrong right in this moment? Right now? Is your belly starving for food or worse...are the bellies of your family starving? Is there a roof over your head? Do you have a job?

Do you have "enough" today? How is your life "in shambles"?
