Checking in ...
It's been a while since I posted, although I do check in and read every day
Now over 100 days sober (after a brief relapse at 88 days ... I should be over 6 months!!! ) and life is so much better than it was a few short months ago! I am slowly discovering a new way to live a happy, contented, sober life ... one day at a time. Reading the posts here, attending meetings, and sharing experiences with other alcoholics is the key to keeping me sober. Posts by newcomers remind me constantly where I do not wish to go again. Posts from people with long-term sobriety reinforce "keeping the eye on the prize" and inspire me by showing me the way. The main thing that I have discovered on this journey is that I can't do it alone ... left to my own devices, I will drink again (I have proven that over and over and over). But with this forum and face-to-face meetings, I just might have a chance.
