Proud of myself :)
Just returned from my work holiday party and there was alcohol at every corner, on every table, in everyone's hands. They even handed out tokens for free drinks, but I was good :-D Before the party a coworker and I ended up at the gym and had an amazing workout, which in part I think is why it wasn't that hard not to get drunk, because I would be undoing all of my hard work I had just put in at the gym. There was tons of food, and music and dancing... and for the first time in 10 years I danced sober. It was the most liberating feeling, definitely a little awkward at first, but once I let my guard down it was truly refreshing. The girls I work with are all wonderful and only two of the five of us had anything to drink, and I finally realized I can actually have fun with people I barely know without getting completely trashed. Feeling very positive right now

Thank you for this. Parties are difficult for me without social lubrication. I'm trying to avoid them for now. I'm glad you were successful in not only not drinking but especially in having fun.
