Today I am feeling energetic, anxiety-free and ambitious. I have already cleaned my house, made some fancy food for later and did a few other things today.

I also told a few family members that I am back in recovery. It feels good to be honest again. It feels like a relief. Tuseday is the day my son goes to visit with his Grandma. I usually start drinking the instant I drop him off and then let my spouse take care of him when he comes home. I am so relieved that I don't have to worry about where I am going to drink and how I am going to appear sober when my MIL comes home with the baby.

Instead I am going to pick out a Christmas tree and do some Christmas shopping. Then I will come home, have a nice meal with my husband and we will watch holiday movies and cuddle. Then I am planning to go and pick up my son, something I could never ever dream of doing while drinking.

I am so grateful for being sober today. I hope I never forget this feeling.

That is awesome. Isn't it amazing how we think we are giving something up (booze, supposed fun) only to realize the freedom that comes with it, the ability to do what we really want and need to do? Great post.

Had a relapse over the weekend.... felt awful the last two days. Hopefully back on the wagon for good now. Hang in there Doperdition!

I made a marinade for some fancy steaks we picked up earlier but unfortunately my son got a little burn at grandma's house today so he's coming home early. That's just as well, it will keep me busy!
